RAR files can usually compress content 8 to 30 percent better than ZIP files.
Pocket RAR is a version of RAR archiver for Pocket PC 2002 platform.
You may find RAR versions for Windows (WinRAR), Linux and other operating systems on http://www.rarlab.com.
Pocket RAR is able to compress, decompress and delete files in RAR and ZIP archives.
It does not provide many advanced functions available in WinRAR, for example, archive repair or authenticity verification.
Such functions were removed to make the executable size smaller and reduce amount of precious Pocket PC memory occupied by the archiver.
Advanced archive processing can be done on the desktop computer having more memory and faster processor.

Just excellent. As some others stated there is a .CAB installer available! Works fine and does a great job. Maybe there are icons problems on newer devices but I am sure that rarlab will fix this asap.

Program will run on PC then extract to PPC.

I can't run this program on my WinMo Phone. I guess because it is an .exe as someone stated.

Exe's don't work on PPCs. Why is this even listed for pocket PC if there is no .cab installer? Man, I'm really starting to hate rar's.

For those of us without a computer who use ppc exclusicely for internets... Completely useless! Please upload .cab insaller.

If you don't know what a .cab file is, you have no business using a pocket pc!

Good solid program for opening or making RAR or ZIP archives, just like the desktop one. Only two drawbacks: (1) updating a RAR archive seems to be impossible: despite 20MB of free memory it failed to update a tiny 10KB RAR archive! (2) The seamless way its file explorer drops in and out of archives can leave you confused as to whether you are looking at real files or the archive - this could be dangerous, they need to make the distinction more obvious.

This program just rocks! But a PPC CAB based installer would be a great option.
